I am so very thankful for another day with my Charley girl - even if it started at 4:00am. Four seems much more reasonable than yesterday's 2:57am. Today is going to be busy but hopefully fun. We have a 10:30 autism friendly version of the Grinch at the Old Globe Theater with our friends. Then the annual REINS Christmas party at 1:00. It's Charley's dads night for custody so she will end her day with a daddy slumber party. Keith and I will have a much needed date night. Can't wait!!!
Today Charley had a follow up with orthopedics. Her doctor cleared her for regular activity and he said everything looks great! Charley did a really good job at the appointment. While we waited to see her doctor we listened to her new favorite song Y.M.C.A. - she lights up when it starts to play. It made my day.
There is something to be said for finding a group of women with similar struggles. The support they provide is priceless. On Saturday I got to have dinner with my mom group. All of us have children with special needs. When I'm with these ladies I feel whole. I can't imagine where I'd be without them. I'm so very thankful for my Super Mom Group!!! XO
I resolve to treat my blog like instagram! A few days ago I realized that if I put half the energy into my blog that I put into Instagram or Pinterest I might actually feel more accomplished. So here it goes! My goal is to blog at least 4 times a week. Surely I can make it a habit. *A fun side note: baby boy Linder has been moving around like crazy as I write this - I'm going to take it as a sign that he supports my blogging efforts.
First of all when did December get here? It snuck up on me and I find myself completely busy but thrilled. It has to be one of my most favorite times of year. My Mom was so great about making wonderful family traditions - one of which was decorating the tree together while listening to Christmas music and eating homemade goodies. Thank you Mom for making everything feel so special! On Tuesday night - after a very rough day with Charley- we decorated our tree. This was the first time Charley hung ornaments. Miss Megan(her behavior therapist) held Charley and I helped her hang four of her ornaments. She did so great!!! Those of you who know Charley know that this task is a small Christmas miracle in my eyes. I imaged the tree getting pulled down and the ornaments getting thrown. ;) I am so thankful for those times where the stress and struggle of the day melt away because nothing could be more perfect than this exact moment! Happy December.
