Let me start by saying I am adjusting well to being a Mother of two. I am beyond words thrilled that Wesley is here and that Charley is doing so well with him. She is still having all of her regular rough behaviors but nothing new related to us bringing home a baby. Yesterday was a really good day. Charley's behaviors were at an all time low. I think she was excited to get back to school after spring break. She had PT at 10 and I was able to go and help encourage her. She has been working on pulling to stand using a hand rail and then taking steps with one hand on the rail and the other hand lightly supported by her PT. Her school aide is there to help as well and it usually takes all three of us plus candy to get her to work. She must have really liked the green apple taffy I brought because she took over 60 steps before she decided she was all done. This is a huge deal because before this the most steps she had taken was around 20. I have never placed any real value on walking - either she could do it or she couldn't. My love for her is not dependent on her abilities. However the fact that she is continuing to develop physically and mentally makes me hopefully for her. To see the look on her face when she is proud of herself is priceless. She continues to amaze me. Then last night at dinner I was burping Wesley and asked charley to help me by patting his back. I brought him close to her and instead of pats she layed her head on his back(we call this giving love - she does it with the dogs all the time) and then she kissed him and smiled. ALL ON HER OWN! Thank you God for such a fantastic day.
This is so great to hear!! I'm so happy that you are adjusting well to being a Mom of 2 (no surprise because you're such a wonderful Mom to Charley already!) and that Charley is doing so well with her own endeavors and as a loving big sister. Thanks for the update. It's always nice to hear how you and Charley are doing! I'm so very happy for you and your family. xoxo
